Terms of use

Use BidCheck with clarity

BidCheck is an independent second opinion for understanding an estimate, not a substitute for a licensed professional’s judgment.

Effective September 16, 2026

Informational estimate analysis

BidCheck provides educational and informational analysis of contractor estimates. Our reports are intended to help you understand quoted pricing, scope, potential questions, and possible next steps before you make a decision.

What BidCheck does not provide

BidCheck does not provide engineering advice, legal advice, home inspections, contracting services, insurance-adjusting services, financing advice, code compliance determinations, or guaranteed market pricing. We do not supervise contractors, inspect your property, or determine whether work is suitable for your home.

Pricing and scope vary

Project pricing and scope can vary because of property conditions, local labor markets, materials, access, permits, timelines, warranties, contractor overhead, insurance requirements, and other factors. Any estimated range or potential difference is an informed reference point, not a quote, appraisal, guarantee, or promise of savings.

No fraud determinations

BidCheck does not determine that a contractor, estimate, charge, or business practice is fraudulent, dishonest, improper, or unlawful. Flags and questions in a report identify items that may be worth discussing, clarifying, or reviewing with a qualified professional.

Your decisions remain yours

You are responsible for evaluating contractors, reviewing contracts, confirming licenses and insurance, obtaining permits, and deciding whether to proceed with a project. Consider obtaining additional bids and consulting qualified professionals when a project, contract, property condition, insurance claim, or safety issue warrants it.
